Pilates uses controlled movements to increase flexibility and strength, improve body alignment and promote balance and coordination. Courses focus on the key muscles that can cause problems and concentrate on improving core strength, pelvic stability and scapula control. Run by an Exercise Physiologist with a special interest in chronic pain, these classes are suitable for Pilates beginners who may have issues that make them reluctant to begin exercising. Classes can accommodate a range of injuries or conditions, but it helps if you are able to lie on the floor for some exercises. Classes are capped at 8 people to ensure participants get personalized tuition. Health rebates may apply.
